Hi all, I need your help. As a first try I am desperately trying to purchase a Bianchi Pista bike or frame (or even a Mercier Kilo or a Motobecane SS), size 54-56, online from Hungary, Europe, but no dealer would ship the bike to overseas - they say they have to obey certain export restrictions.
Could anyone help me with any sort of idea, or by naming a dealer who would be willing to ship? Thanks so much for any useful ideas. Tamas
Why don't you buy one of the many frames available in Europe? It will be much cheaper after import duties and shipping.
Or you could buy one from IRO, they ship internationally.

Fahrrad.de have bianchi pistas in some sizes...and i think they ship all over europe!
I already said this, Ebay. And keeping eye especially on the German Ebay would not be a bad idea for you.

Thanks, guys, I have been searching eBay for quite a while, but no luck in Europe (Pista must be a rare and expensive item in Germany), and only reluctant sellers in the US so far (shippingwise). Is IRO Mark V or Pro basically the same tubing and quality? I know geometry slightly differs... Which of the IRO steel frames do you more recommend?

Addendum: as for eBay, private sellers are reluctant to ship overseas, and whereas I found dealers willing to ship the IRO Mark V to Europe for 90 USD, the only dealer stripping and selling Bianchi Pista frames insists the package would be oversize for international shipping, only UPS would accept and ship it (for a fortune). I asked why the IRO can be shipped then, the Bianchi guy said he had no idea. So I am stuck in this respect.
The Bianchi Pista is a bike specifically made for the North American market, Bianchi USA and Bianchi Europe are 2 different companies with different management and different products.
The Bianchi Pista in Italy in called Bianchi Pista USA and costs 650 euros complete, I think is the same price in all the European Union, they sell only the complete bike.
The Bianchi Pista Concept in Europe is a complete different frame from the american Pista Concept.
Shipping from the US to Europe is going to cost about 100 euros, even inside Europe some shipping costs for a frame or a complete bike are very high.
DPD has the cheapest shipping in Europe by far. You can pay in your home company and they will pick up the frame anywhere in the EU.
