Mountain Biking - Winter upgrades anyone?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Recently read a thread over at MTBR, and thought I would start a similar one over here.
What has the winter driven you to do change/upgrade/downgrade?/modify on your bike? With the past couple weeks of nothing but rain here in NorCal, my bikes are sitting in my stands at home, and I keep looking at them, noticing things that need to be changed/upgraded.
It sucks.
For the Blindside:
Floating brake (means I have to rebuild my Hadley to 12mm)
Tubeless
Stripped the anodize off the cranks
New saddle
For the Fuel (got last week)
Tires
Grips
White housing (fo sho!)
Pedals
Anyone else doing anything? Pics?

I put a F-100 w Teralogic on the FSR XC, then moved the old F-100 RC to the Rockhopper.
As a winter project, I picked up a Hard Rock frame that I'm going to build up with all the spare parts I've collected. I guess I'll flip it in the spring or give it to my brother-in-law.

Lucky! I wish my pedals would just work. I need to get a replacement spindle for my TIMEs, I need to call Crank Bros. again cause they sent me out the wrong warranty spindles for my Acids.
I just put the 08 XT pedals on my Fuel, we'll see how they do. Haven't ridden SPD in about a year and a half.

The 08 XT pedals own. I have my set on the fisher at the moment.
I have a Fox F100 RLC on it's way now...
I just picked up a used Gunnar Rock Hound frame for a steal...
Upgrading the front disc brake to an 8" rotor...
Tomorrow I turn in my frame for chemical stripping (Dip), when I get it back it is off to get powder coated Candy Blue... I am still trying to decide on the decals... Waterford sells a replacement set for $45, but they would be hard to install and clear coat over.

Just got a 08 rlc and my dragon team frame is on it's way. Probably getting a good set of bars and a thomson stem and a chris king headset too, probably in silver.
Only a seatpost change for my bike. Also ordered a couple of the new schwalbe RR tires, and some spares (pads, chains, and a middle chainring) for the summer.
I think the Gran Mal is going to get a new frame, headset, stem, bars, grips, seatpost, saddle, wheelset, tires, drivetrain . . . .
I upgraded everything BUT tires, pedals and seat.. and I got a new pair of shoes.

Been thinking about building a single speed for getting around town.

Sounds the same as my trail bike...
Cleaned the spare room that I keep the bikes in.
Does that count?
Upgraded to a new bike just a couple months ago anyway.

I finally got around to cleaning my bikes up after my last ride... in October. Now they're ready for a little break in the weather for me to get out.
Oh, and when I get my 29er SS, I am thinking about subing out the fork for a CF one, and the cranks for something lighter. Does any of this count?

I'm thinking of changing my Kona Blast hard tail into a Surly Big Dummy.

I have the new XTR shadow and XTR shifters on my 575.
The shadow isn't quite as smooth as my '07 XTR DR on the Intense, but who cares, the bling factor
make it worth while. And you'll find quite often on the trial someone asks about it!
Upgraded the brakes to Hope Mono Mini w/floating rotors... I got the frame back from powder coating...

What's a "floating rotor"?
I would think if the rotor was not solidly attached to the hub, your
braking would be compromised.
PS: I have had the MONO MINI's for 4-5 years. Take my advice, carry an
extra brake pad pin. if the clip comes off ( and I've seen it on more than one
bike) you'll be down to one brake!

Haro Hardtail got new pedals, bars, and a complete clean down.
Bought a KHS AM1000 frame (In the mail right now..) and will be built up hopefully for some spring time rocking out!

Here is an image of the "floating rotor"
They call them "floating" because the inner portion of the rotor is Aluminum and is riveted to the braking surface made of Stainless Steel.
To quote HOPE: "Disc – Two part floating disc included with aluminium centre and
hardened stainless steel braking area reduces weight in these larger
disc diameters and handles extremes in temperature on long Alpine
descents"

I'm jealous of the hopes, soon to be on my bike.

New XTR front and rear Der.
New schwalbe tires
New chain rings
New cassette
New Chain
All new cables
Completely rebuilt fork
