Hi Portlanders,

did I miss this year's thread somehow? Forgive me if I'm double posting but I couldn't find one.
So, are people forming any groups for the 45-mile route of the Worst Day of the Year Ride (http://www.worstdayride.com/) on Feb 10th? More specifically, intermediate-level groups? I rode the 18-mile route last year, and, although fun, it wasn't as scenic as the longer one.

There's a mention of it in the "carpool to NAHBS" thread, this subforum.

I'm riding the 18 mile route. I decided that I couldn't completely abandon my SO another day on the same weekend. I'm only partially abandoning him. :)

I too did the 18-mile loop last year and this year I'm doing the 45-mile loop. I never pedaled the west hills before. Hope to see you there - I'm not a very fast rider though.

I'm riding the 18-mile with a group of about a dozen friends. A few might be good enough riders to do the longer ride - but not enough to recruit the whole group! We rode last year and had a blast. We'll be the crazies costumed in an island theme. I have a white bike and will be wearing a green hawaiian skirt with hot pink tights -- say hi, I'd love to meet you!

Cheers,
Heather

I'll be there. I'm intermediate-ish, so there's at least 2 of us. Feel free to wheel-suck if I can do the same:)

Beautiful weather for the "Worst Day" ride. I was a first timer, I rode the 18 mile loop with my wife and some friends, had a great time, but certainly want to do the long ride next year. A very well organized event, from what I saw a credit to the PDX cycling community.

Agreed, agreed. It was fun. A few annoying people half-wheeling (or half-bike-length) at intersections, blocking my view of traffic, even though I was at the intersection first. Otherwise it was a blast. I hope to recruit some friends for next year's ride.
