I just read an article from Mountain bike action about this Salsa Caballero full suspension bike. The frame of the bike was built with Scandium.

Has anyone tried this particular bike or frames that are made with this material?

The article claims that Scandium is lighter than ti and stronger than alumimum.

Thanks.

Scandium IS NOT HIGH GRADE ALUMINUM! http://www.webelements.com/webelements/elements/text/Sc/key.html
However Scandium alloys used in bicycle frames is done to give already weak alu. alloys a higher yeild strength. www.eastonbike.com/downloadable_files/r&d_files/ R&D-03%20Scandium.pdf
Here is a good site with uses for Sc. in alloys and its history in usage.
