That's what I was doing yesterday folks. Well, actually it was one big mutha of a cloud going across Beechmont Plateau. I rode through it for several km, not being able to see a thing more than about 10 metres in front of me, with one hell of a crosswind (I didn't think rain fell horizontally  ).
The hills were strange because they had to be done by instinct (couldn't see that much of the road in front of me). The first rain I'd been in for months too. Absolutely heaps of it for that little while. I genuinely felt sorry for all those fat people wasting their lives by not doing stuff like this.

Sounds COOL!
Reminds of skiing in the fog, one time so thick I had trouble seeing my ski tips, got vertigo and fell over!
Ride how you feel

Chris, you are one lucky bastard. Methinks an Australian vacation is going to have to enter into the program after I have a chance to hike across Germany. :D

You're welcome at any time. The Gold Coast Hinterland really is another world sometimes.

I remember several months ago I was riding my bike up the Alp d'Huez in France. Up to the beginning of the Alp d'Huez, I had done a pretty good job making my fellow riders think I wasn't going to do as well as expected on that ride. I had just turned around to take a good look at the guy trying to hold on to my slipstream, and off I went. I was going so fast I amost overtook the motorists in front of me; I seem to remember most of them being on motorcycles. I almost broke the record that afternoon that had been set by Marco Pantani on that same mountain a few years back. I was really proud of myself for that ride. And to top it off I was kissed by two beautiful French women for my accomplishment that day.
Oh, wait a minute...I just remembered...that wasn't me. :D
