Any good? I found a NOS front wheel, the Lambda-V laced to a 105 hub for $45. I'm just wondering if it's worth that much. I searched around and saw some used prices, but this is NOS.

It looks like an Atlanta (polished, v-profile), which might be throwing me off. Is it a tank?

I don't think it's anywhere near as deep as an Atlanta or anywhere near as heavy.

If it's not 35mm, then it's not an atlanta. Certainly doesn't look like one from that low res pic, but then again it is a low res pic.

Definitely shallower than an Atlanta.

NOS i don't think that's an awful deal. i'm not sure it would look as nice if you couldn't find a matching rim to lace a rear with, but that's just personal taste.

I know it's not an Atlanta. It's a Lambda-V. I just wanna know if it's as heavy as an Atlanta, but from what Igneous said I suppose logically it would be lighter.

I got those rims of my bike, they look real nice and are quite light IMO. And true, not very deep. They also exist in black color, I've seen those somewhere.

But what can I say, they're Campy. Not everyone has them.

"The Lambda V is an aero shaped 700c road racing clincher rim. It is made of 6082 series aluminum alloy raised to a T6 temper. The side walls have a slight outward curve to accommodate the Aero, low wind resistance profile. Once the extrusion has been rolled into its hoop shape the ends are joined using aluminum insert wedged pressed into the cavity between the cross-tie wall and the spoke bed wall using the rim ends as a "sleeve" to hold and retain the aluminum core. The bottom of the spoke bed wall, which the nipple butts against has added thickness to help prevent spoke nipple pull through failure. The sloping outer surfaces of the Lambda V are high polished and left in an un-anodized bright Silver finish.

I should mention the other two options this seller is offering:

Mavic Reflex SUP laced to Ultegra - $65
Campagnolo Mexico '68 laced to Campagnolo Xenon - $35

Obviously not as bling (aesthetically) but maybe either of these are a better choice?

Just picked it up. It's really light, which I'm happy about. The profile seems deeper than the usual V shaped rim (such as CXP-22). I'm going to pair it with a white Aerohead or Deep-V someday.

btw the Mavic Reflex is actually the same extrusion as the Open Pro. Different alloy, but same design.

edit: Yellowjersey.org (http://www.yellowjersey.org/cherchi.html) has a bunch of older rims available! It would be just $10 more to get another Lambda Strada instead of a Deep-V. I like contrast though. :p
