Someone who is a regular on an other forum I go to is going to start going without a car (in COLD Saskatchewan Canada of all places). He made a fairly interesting vlog on youtube. He goes into detail about the cost of owning a car.

True the cost of owning a car is high, and I applaud his courage, but he did mention three things that one CAN control:
1) Speeding tickets.
One of my wife's co-workers, who does not make much money, is constantly complaining about not having enough money. Two of her problems are smoking and speeding. I said that she might try to give up smoking and STOP speeding. Her response? In a high whinny voice "I can't help it!"
2) Wheel rims?
Why does one need to speed so much money on these sparkly wheel rims? Waste of money.
3) Stereo system?
Why spend so much money on a stereo system? What's wrong with what came with the car? Waste of money.
Anyway, I wish him the best and hope it works out for him. But the cost can be controled (somewhat) if you do not purchase non-essential items. If you do, then don't complain about cost.
