Mountain Biking - should whiting and stt be opened after the fires?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i am starting to believe that they are trying to torture us by making us either ride the road, or not ride at all.

what do you guys think about this?

I'll be at Aliso Woods today, Saturday, 10am if anyone wants to join. Look for the white Yeti...

STT and Whiting are my favorite rides, and I often put the two together to make a good
20 mile ride.
Having ridden both for 5 or more years, I'd say the closure, although inconvenient, is for the best.
The flora and fauna both need to recover w/o damage by hikers, biker and horses.
We all know that many people will bust a trail wherever they can when no ones looking.

So, I want to hit my best rides, but am willing to ride Aliso Woods and El Moro until
everything is open. My guess is end of summer '08.

I'm also getting a little bored of both those trails, so will be throwing in Bell view trail and
O'Neil to mix it up. If your not familiar with Bell View, its all dirt road, but practically no-one is oout there.
can get in a good ride w/o dealing with a bunch of hikers or bikers. It goes from Rancho Santa Marg to
Ortega Hwy, ending in Caspers wilderness park.
