Well unlike Groucho Marx you've let me join your club, so many thanks.
For my sins I've been cycling London streets and beyond for the past 42 years and still get a buzz every time I start off on a new journey. Even if it's a well worn path I'll deviate my route and can always guarantee a different adventure or a different encounter which motorists rarely achieve in their steel coccoons. Older road touring bicycles are my forte, the joys of Reynolds 531 will always be more appealing than carbon fibre. My 30 or so bicycles range from 1880 to 1990 and are mostly English classics such as Hetchins, Bates, Allin, Higgins though my current love is a cheap MTB rescued from a dumpster and rebuilt as an LCB Load Carrying Bicycle now known as the Toxic Bike, as every bit of it was thrown away by somebody else. After 7 prototypes, it is remarkably effective and can carry 3 cases of beer and the weekend groceries through gridlocked traffic. I get a grin each time I use it. Looking forward to learning more about your cycling experiences the USA. Yours in camaraderie.....Londoner
