Introductions - Hello everyone
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Newbie to bikeforum here. I've lived in San Francisco for 25 years. I have always loved cycling; growing up in the rural midwest, bike was the ticket to anywhere else. Four years ago this month I gave away my car and now use only my bikes to get to everywhere--I have never regretted this decision!

Hi MCSF415, what kind of bike or bikes have you got? You have plenty of BikeForums company in SF, and don't forget to check out the regional forums for the Northern California region. Hope to see you post in the Living Car Free forum, too :) .

Hey East Hill--
I gotta bunch o' bikes... 1) '62 Hawthorne that I restored last summer (but don't really ride), 2) a Bianchi Stelvia from the '80's that I converted to a fixed gear, 3) a Marin Lucas Vally hybrid that I use as my get all over the City bike--it is all stickered up and unassuming, so i'll lock it if I need to. 4) A Guru Newsteel road racing bike, and 5) for my 50th birthday last year I got an Atlantis by Rivendell, which is just an awesome bike. Thanks for the welcome... I'll definitely subsrcibe to car-free living forum. Thanks!
