Hi guys.. just a few questions.
a) Recently I started hearing a slight squeaking noise when pedaling. It just seems that the chain needs a bit of lube. Am I correct?
b) Is there any 'end of season' maintenance I should perform, so the bike stays nicely in the winter?
Thanks for your help!
It could be the chain, you should lube it every 100 miles or so. It could also be the pedals. If you have a bike stand put it in that and pedal it and see if you can find where the squeak is coming from. If you do not you can turn it upside down and pedal and try to narrow it down.
Bottom brackets and cranks can also creak or squeak under load. Yes, try to isolate the source of the noise, e.g. by substituting another set of pedals, if available.

Do your annual service of bearings and cables before winter hits. Wash the frame clean, then apply car wax. Wax any exposed cables. Fit fenders if you can.
