Well here's my intro, I'm old and in the way, an experienced tourng cyclist.

I spent one year doing a few triathlons, though it was back in 1989 so mostly old info.

I have 10+K of loaded unsupported touring, often with a Bob trailer. Most of this east of the Mississippi, though I now live near the Missouri river about 10 miles from the Katy trail.

I use to live in Tallahassee, Fl and know that area well, Use to ride a straight 18 around Tallahassee which is pretty hilly.

Love the solitude of the Nachez Trace, wish to inform people that there are a string of free campgrounds along the Trace, the 3 national parks and 5(or6?) campgrounds setup for cyclist/hikers only that are a greatly under utilized resource!

I've cycled the Blue Ridge Pkwy/Skyline drive as well, been to church with the Cookie Lady (June Currie) for any of you oldtimers out there.

From Tallahassee, I've traveled by bike to every state East of the Mississippi except Rhode Island and Connecticut.

I've ridden on Fuji, Cannondale, touring bikes a peugot cross bike (touring) and switched to a giant mtn bike which was stolen after a ride back to Tallahasse, where I bought an old police bike (rock hopper) with a sprung rear and put a fixxed front fork and rode it back to Missouri, It's not a bad bike but a tad small for me, I discovered this forum while I look for a new bike to go on an extended tour this spring.

Did I mention that I'm a big guy? 6'2" 300lbs. Like the added strenghth of a 26" wheel. I've broken enough parts to build 2 bikes! Cartridge BB are the greatest invention. I went through 2 new BB in 3000 miles at one point until I discovered "Phil Woods" and had no problem with the generic BB in the Giant and Rock Hopper.

Welcome to BF.

Well here's my intro, I'm old and in the way...
You're not even 50 years old. You're still a kid. I'm 63 and I'm not old. Cycling keeps me young.

BTW: Stay away from the 50+ forum. Lots of "old people" there.

But you definitely have a home in the Clydesdales/Athenas forum :). Lots of nice folks, and good for motivating people. Or, you can do some motivating!

Welcome to BF!
