Southern California - Superbowl, SuperNOTbowl...What Be Your Plan?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What is everyone doing today? I'm just curious if there is a huge segment on here that is going to drink beer, eat hot wings and watch thick men in tights, bend over, run after a ball and jump on top of each other over and over again. You, now the Superbowl?
Or, are you doing absolutely anything else so as not to watch the SB?

Usually, I like to do a climbing ride like Highway 38 on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday - a lot less traffic on the road - and I can still get my ride done in time to watch the game. But I rode hard yesterday anticipating the rain today, so I will likely get together with the extended family and watch my hometown New England Patriots.
Watching the game in my living room, only paying attention to the Q1-4 score to see if I win.
Most likely won't pay much atention to the game..:o

We have one of those Heineken mini kegs and potato chips, that should be sufficient for us.
We like the commercials, although I usually get bored with the game and don't really care who wins.

Going to ADT to ride around in circles for a while and get some madison practice.
Then coming home and doing some programming.

I'll be eating, drinking, and talking about ultra long distance cycling to impress our non-cycling friends and relatives while the game is on in the other room. ......and perhaps show them my bike collection, if they're lucky..... :D

The sun is out, so gonna get some miles in. As far as the Super Bowl is concerned, I'll probably clean my bike and put the Super Bowl on in the background. I'll pay more attention to the commercials.

football season ended 2 weeks ago. today i'm just gonna go play in the rain and hopefully not get hurt.
Watching the game sounded a lot more appealing before I read M.E.'s description of what I'd be watching. I'll probably still watch, though.

Not a sports fan, so most likely going to try my new 3 hours long spinerval to see how long I'll last.

That's participating in sports, riding a bike for that long. Eating wings and drinking beer while staring at a TV, that's not really sports. I think you've got things a bit mixed up here!
Having some folks over to watch the game. It's my annual friends get-together/happy birthday to me party. The game is on, lots of folks aren't watching, or just watching the commercials. I make turkey chili, and we have a mix of healthy (hummus) and unhealthy (chips & guacamole) snacks, along with beer and wine.
If it hadn't been pouring this morning I might have gone out for a short ride, but I got in a yoga session and short ride yesterday, so don't feel so bad about it.
Hi,
Well, I'm a lifelong NY Giants fan so you know what I'll be doing. :D
My youngest son (age 12) is also a Giants fan and my sister is coming over so we'll have a small but enthusiastic party watching the Giants (hopefully) beat the Patriots. :)
I normally like Cleave, but I guess today, I'll be hoping he has a bad day. :p

Ewwww, football. I really can't fathom why people are so interested in burly men in tights slamming into each other and grappling over a ball. Now basketball--burly men in *shorts* slamming into each other and grappling over a ball--that I can appreciate.
I'll be working on html all day, with breaks for eating, napping, random web surfing, studying for midterms, and *napping*

Superwhat?
Since the Chargers season is over, I'm hoping for a perfect NE season.
I don't like Eli since he didn't want to come to SD.
The Couser/Rice Cyn ride was cancelled so I'm doing household chores until 3.
Watching the game sounded a lot more appealing before I read M.E.'s description of what I'd be watching.
+1. Way to ruin the game. :)
Truth be told, I'm only in it for the commercials, camaraderie, and snacks (which includes beer).

I'm keeping Jessica Simpson under my covers and preoccupied to make sure she doesn't jinx anybody. I might let her up for some air during halftime . . . we'll see.
There's a game today?

I'd rather have molten lead poured in my ears.
It's raining, I'm still sick.
I think I'll rebuild a bottom bracket.
While drinking beer.

I should go the gym today after work but I'm heading to a friend's place for the game. I too am only watching the quarter scores. Winnings would go in the powertap fund.

Heading out to the Training Center(garage)to do some stationary drills. 4@20min cruise intervals. Then potato chips and clam dip for the game. Half time Doggie Bowls. Potato wedges, chopped hot dogs, covered in chili. Mmmmm..

I likes the football. So, I will be watching the game. Plus, it's wet and I had my fill of wet road fun yesterday. I rode to Red Box. Was a bit chilly. Not bad. the part the had me a wee bit concerned was that some peoples were loading the tops of their chariots with the dirty road side ice. I kept thinking that a chunk would come off and knock me down like a bowling pin. Plus, the nimrods were driving faster and more recklessly than usual. I'll take the rice rockets anyday over the once a lifetime mountain visitors. I even saw a fellow pick up a piece of roadside ice and lick it. People, this ain't middle of the Sierra snoe fluff. Sheesh.
It was a good ride nonetheless.

Sad, sad day. The end of another season. How is it that baseball and basketball seasons seem to drag on forever, but football is all too brief?
I'll be watching the game, along with Superbowl comfort food. mmm... nachos, potato skins and pizza...
I will be watching "the big game," as always. As a Chargers fan, I am inclined to root against both teams. I have not decided which team I will root against more. On a more positive not, the refrigerator is nicely stocked, including leftover pizza and a few bottles from Dogfish Head brewery.

I don't like Eli since he didn't want to come to SD.
Well it was actually his daddy Archie that didn't want Eli to play for San Diego.
Either way I'll be pulling for the Giants because I hate the the cheating Patriots especially Rodney Harrison, and Bill Bellicheat, and even though I don't care for Manning much, I like Strahan, Umenyiora and the machine Brandon Jacobs. Score prediction...30-27 Giants.

Ooh...I love hockey! But that's mainly because I had a boyfriend a few years ago who was a Kings fan and took me to their games (so, I got into it). He was always a little more...um...spirited after those games. I think hockey is like a shot of testosterone for some men.
