Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - high flange hubs vd low flange hubs?

Im just wondering the differences, like is one stronger or last longer, or is there a reason one is preffered over the other?

If you want to ride a fixed gear and be a hipster, high flange is the only way to go.

High flange is supposed to increase lateral stiffness. If you'd like some industry copy on this, check out Roval's Star hubs. They're super high flange to increase lateral stiffness so Roval could decrease the area of the wheel when looking straight on at it, decreasing drag.
