Hey folks,
I was looking at the 28s on my bike the other day and thought to myself 'Hey! I bet I could squeeze a 32 of some make into there.'
So I'm wondering if anyone has tried to squeze a 32 or something larger than a 28 between those stays. Are there certain makes that work? Certain makes that definitely don't work?
Thanks!

Differnet tires all measure different sizes even if they all say 700x28c on them. Some are wider, some are narrower.

probably enough room in the rear (depending on where your wheel sits in the track ends). regarding the front, it might be a tight fit-- I think IRO says 28 is the max for the angus and mark v.
it totally depends on the specific tire, as operator pointed out. Panaracer T-servs, for example, run small. I've got 28s on my Cross Check that look like 25s.

+1. If things look tight, it's worth a few extra bucks to get tires at the lbs so you can make sure they fit.

i was so confused by the title of this thread. i thought you meant that iro was having a clearance sale on tires, and then i realized iro doesn't even sell tires... it's been a long day.
I've got 700x31 'cross tires on my Angus. Just don't let the front get too out-of-round.

Huh?
Sorry, front wheel. With the little clearance I have, a few mm can cause the tire to rub the fork crown.

i ran 35s randonneurs, which seemed to fit ok, but i discovered later that they were rubbing a little bit. i think you could pretty easily fit 32s or so.
