I knew he had some medical issues the past couple of years. I had sent him several e-mails over time and he always responded quickly and with great information. What an amazing guy and a huge loss.

God speed to Sheldon. I guess that is why he did not answer my last email.

I was fortunate to have met him at Interbike, and at the shop he worked at in Boston - he will be missed.

Well. I'm pretty sure that whatever his next destination was, he went there on a bicycle. Ride on, Sheldon.

I'm a little embarrassed to ask this ... who was Sheldon Brown? I guess I should know, but I don't.

yeah, it's really sad-- he's contributed a lot for a long time. He put up huge amounts of truly useful information about bike parts, made them available through the Harris site, and answered lots of dumb (and not so dumb) questions for people.

Same here. I've really enjoyed his writing style, not to mention his enthusiasm. I hope he has a great time with Tullio and Ugo and Ernesto, et. a.l Keep on riding... the alternative sucks.

Hello All,

This is very sad. :(

I read articles written by Sheldon before there was an internet. He was a wise and witty character. RIP.

I have never heard a bad word about him, I am confident that he has gone to heaven. Instead of morning OUR loss, I am cracking a little smile thinking how happy he is cycling on a zero gram bike at the speed of light. I hear there isn't any wind resistance in heaven, unless of course you want some.

He would want us to ride not cry.
