Northern California - I have Friday off. Ride?

I teach, and instead of giving me Monday off like the rest of the world I get Friday off. I've been a daily bike commuter, but haven't had a chance to ride my new road bike much yet.

Anyone have Friday off and wanta do 40-60 somewhere? Take me on a tour of your area mid morning?

Ouch. I should have said I'm in East Contra Costa. I'll drive to where ever, but here to Fremont is 2 hours in rush hour traffic. That's tooooooooooo much for me to be there by 8.

Oh, you guys are killing me. I'll be in a plane Friday, heading to Maine for the weekend. I've already started whining about how nice the weather is going to be here this weekend too.

I'm just going to have to ignore this thread I guess. :)

I'm free after 8:30 but when I double-checked my calendar I saw that I teach a Spinning class at 5. If I could be done and home by 4 I could manage something. Where did you have in mind? How long are you willing to drive and how long a ride do you want to do?

San Rafeal Civic Center, Park in Orange area(map above) should be free parking. Fri. am: WHAT TIME?? I would suggest 9:am but it doesn't matter for me...Curtis's choice since he called ride.

Civic Ctr., Lucas Valley rd, to Nicasio, up to Cheese Factory (pit stop), Marshall Wall, Back south, Tomales bay, Pt Reyes (lunch) maybe SP taylor park and back up to Lucas Valley (time dependent)

By the way, Friday looks to be the jewel of the week, It'll be the warmest day, with no clouds! At least that's what the reports promise.

It'll take me at least an hour to get to San Rafael. So nine isn't doable for me. I may stay closer to home, since I have work obligations later in the afternoon and don't want to risk getting caught in eastbound rush hour traffic.

what kind of milage are we looking at? I am possibly racing Sunday and don't want to kill myself to much. If we are under 60 consider me in!

Curtis was right we're doing 560 miles in a day.. trying for a record BF ride!
bout 50 with bailout..... 60 time dependent. Can we get some girls? Curtis just aint cute enough:(

I'm "settling" for a 45-mile loop, one I did on Wed. The mustard is brilliant in the fields and smells wonderful. I can't wait to get out there again.
