Free pancakes!!
Are you serving them personally? Or will you be greeting people at the door? I'll even come to the one in Glendale!
Edit: Damn. I'm on a plane that day.

(i'm lost on this one...)
(edit: oh, nevermind, got it. Cool.)
If it's within the rules, I'd like the buckwheat pancakes please. Oh, don't need any for Vicki, she'll probably just nibble on mine. And Hillary wants the chocolate chip ones, but not the children's menu kind with all the whip cream...she just likes the regular stack. (no powdered sugar..she always forgets to mention that when she orders at IHOP.)
Oh...and a milk for Hilly.
thanks, M.E.

Heh IHOP. Where one pancake (Harvest N Grain) is equivalent to my regular breakfast. :( Plus their refusal to provide nutrition information, and their ridiculous explanation really irks me.

Seems ok to me. You're not supposed to eat them for breakfast everyday... you interleave them with steak-n-eggs. :D
(I'm not a calorie counter; but 1 pancake @180cal seems comparable to a slice of bread @100cal)

Well first that information is highly suspect since those website just take it from each other, and who knows how originally it was created. Second other websites actually list weight of the pancake, and thy assume it's about 65 grams. Actual pancake is around 110 grams, so extrapolating the actual caloric value is 309. Now most people just say "... pancakes". So by default they put crap load of syrup and butter on top of it. That adds another 300-400 calories (conservatively). Harvest N Grain dish has 4 pancakes so in all total it's about 1500-1700 calories (if you include syrup and butter).
I realize it's not an every day thing, although I have known people who go there almost every day. It's just the way they treat their customers like complete idiots. To paraphrase "We are not posting the information because our selection just varies so much and can be customized, and we believe our customers can make a healthy choice." Which is complete bull ****, since most customers have no idea how many calories are actually contained in what they eat. Plus if Red Robin can have nutritional information, IHOP can do it also. They just don't want to because they are afraid if people find out how unhealthy their stuff actually is they will stop going.

That site is funny....
There are 110 calories in the IHOP Pancakes, Buttermilk.
If you choose the Butter instead, you would save about 30 calories.

You should really have more faith in your fellow man and his right to eat whatever he wants. I really don't think people go to IHOP to shave on the calories. I know "we" are all idiots and can't think for ourselves, but don't blame me, I went to a public school.

Sorry I guess wasn't 100% clear. It's not about people being "idiots", it's more about IHOP attitude that they can choose something healthy when no information is available on what is healthy and that they can't post nutrition information because their menu is just too "custom". If someone wants to eat there it's their choice, I don't really care about that.

Well, if you can wait, I'm reasonably sure that the IHOP special includes delivery by M.E. .....must be one of those "Okay, staff, let's get out there and show our customers what a great company we are!" kind of things.

Perfect for the midnight meal after a weekday ride. ;)
Thanks ME!!!! This info will more than make up for not having pancakes Saturday morning and it was an unexpected surprise to see you Saturday morning (great way to start a ride). Although, I thought it was a nice touch to point out that the donuts where just puffed up pancakes. I’ll enjoy some on Tuesday, that’s the only reason I ride so much is so I can enjoy food when I want to.

Actually, UD, we have a menu called "IHOP for Me" that offers many choices and gives the fat gram and calorie count (estimated). Here is the link so you may veiw it: http://www.ihop.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=2 (Click on link, then click on "Click Menu to Proceed" and then locate the IHOP for Me on the right and click on "Click Here")
Off this menu (offered at all IHOPs), you can choose items made wtih Pam spray in lieu of butter and a short stack of pancakes with Promise (reduced cal butter) and sugar free syrup. I've eaten off of this menu and it's quite good. I've also ordered our vegetarian chili omelette made with egg whites, sans cheese with tomatoes on the side and whole wheat toast.
So, there are options at IHOP to eat in a healthier fashion if one chooses. However, I must agree with one of the members in this thread. Most people who visit IHOP do not go there if they are counting calories.

So the question is why can't they provide nutrition information for other items? Obviously they have the ability. Also a suggestion. For "healthy" menu for pancakes calories without the syrup and butter would be great.

I can't answer that except to say that options are made available. As for most people being overweight at IHOPs, I hate to break it to you - it's everywhere in the US. Americans are just getting fatter and fatter, and it has little to do with pancakes.
