A winter hello from my little corner of the world here in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.

A little about me: I love road riding especially those long country roads with no traffic or very little traffic. I'm not a racer but will participate once a year in our local pedal and plod race and am able to clock a nice time for the 22 mile ride. I usually pair up with my sister-in-law or my nephew who are both decent runners. I am a leisurely mountain bike rider not a hard core single track close enough to kiss the tree type, although I do enjoy single track riding, just not at a fast pace. I have a nice circle of friends who ride road bikes and mountain bikes so depending on my mood I have lots of options and places to ride.

Being that I live on the East Coast, we have snow on the ground, and because of that my road and mountain bike are tucked nicely away for the winter, however, my touring bike is up and rolling away on the trainer nightly with me on it! I am heading out this Spring to do the TransAmerica trail from Virginia to Oregon anyone out there who has already completed it who might have some useful advice, feel free to give me a shout.

HAPPY RIDING TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY OUT THERE AND TO THOSE OF YOU ANXIOUSLY WAITING TO GET BACK ON THE SEAT.......SPRING IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!

Hi Julie, remember to check out the Winter Cycling forum...there are some people who ride rain, shine, or snow :) .

Right now I'm going to be leaving for a doctor's appointment in about an hour, and it's pouring rain :) . But hey, it's Seattle!

Welcome to BF!

Hi Jewels, Welcome to Bike Forums!

I wish I can get a trainer. I was seriously eyeballing one but my best friend started to tease me saying, "if there is no snow in California, then there is no reason to ride outside."

Pfft. Whatever.

Well I guess he saved me a couple of hundred, eh? :p
