Haven't started a thread in a while, and just took some new pics of my bike, with its new look, and I thought I'd share...

The bike got a new Campy Omega 19/Miche 28-spoke wheelset since the last pics (http://www.cs.pdx.edu/~marius/pics/track/), and a new stem.

Other pics:

Clearance between rear tire and brake bridge. (REALLY TIGHT.) (http://www.cs.pdx.edu/~marius/pics/track2/track2.jpg)

Right side view (http://www.cs.pdx.edu/~marius/pics/track2/track3.jpg)

Front view (http://www.cs.pdx.edu/~marius/pics/track2/track5.jpg)

I aplogize about the quality of the pics.. I suck with a digital camera.

The front angle is pretty cool. Why did you get a new stem?

That is one sexy machine! The front angle photo is very cool - shows off the clean lines and lack of clutter really well.

Love it!

The old stem belonged to my fixed conversion, which I've now put back together. That and it was a pretty cheap and flexy stem. This one is super-stiff, even though what I really wanted was a sloped track stem, but couldn't find one in 26.0 at the time..

Yeah, I am on the lookout for a track stem with a 25.4 milimeter clamp for my Nitto bars. There was a Nitto Jaguar, new in the package, the stainless one (which usually is like $150) on eBay and I would have won it for about 50 bucks or so, but the guy cancelled the auction. Dirty bastard.. I don't know what the shops are like where you are, but there is a place around here that has a nice Cinelli 65-degree track stem, it must be a little older because I don't see it on Cinelli's web site or anything, but it is pretty nice. It's like $60 or so. They could probably send it to you if you can't find anything locally. Weird thing is most of the track components I see in shops don't seem to exist in any of the companies web site or literature (other than like Surly stuff or whatever). Try to find anything about Colnago's or Cinelli's track stuff on their web sites.. Nitto is a pretty big company and they don't even have a web site that I can find.. Anyways.................. (I was planning on just looking at the pic again but for some reason I have typed this response.)

I somehow missed this thread when it first appeared... beautiful bike!!!

The little top-tube protector, what is it made from?

Honestly, if you had told me oarnge for paint, I'd have said ugly. But that came out very well. Can you tell me anything about the paint? What about the frame?

orange, it's handlebar cork tape wrapped up with electrician's tape. :)

William, it's an 80's Zeus track frame. Used to be blue; it was professionally repainted orange some years ago.

Damn. Just had to sit at the computer staring for awhile. Kinda lost the ability to give comment. Absolutely amazing.
