I posted this in the A&S forum, but this forum may be more appropriate, I suppose.

Anyway, I ran across these wrist-mounted turn signals today and thought I would pass it on.

The Safe Turn Indicator is a new Australian invention. It is a small, portable, automatic bicycle light indicator that easily clips to the wristband that is provided or to your own glove.

Unlike other bicycle indicators, the Safe Turn Indicator does not require any special action from the cyclist. When your hand is raised to indicate a turn, the internal tilt switch detects the change in the position and the orange light starts to blink.

Has anyone used this product? Verdict?

Sorry if this has already been posted. I searched, but who knows.

If you drink from your water bottle, is the thing going to start flashing in your face?

If you watch the video it doesn't seem very bright so it shouldn't blind you for drinking. Of course not being bright means it really won't be noticed that much either. I think at a minimum they should stick that on a reflective wrist band so when it actually gets in the headlights it'll shine.

not sure how well that would work.

This reminds me of semaphore turn signal arms with lights on a Volkswagen I had a long time ago. These turn signal arms would pop out of the door posts and a light in them would start blinking when you used the turn signal lever. I thought they were really cool and still do to this day.

On another note here in Alabama signaling a turn with the right arm is illegal. All signaling must be done with the left arm so this little do-dad would be useless for me.
