I need new ones. I got a 30+ year old Western Flyer 10 speed road bike from my mother. The rear derailure is where I need the most work. Thing is, I'm stripping the bike pretty much down to nothing to re-paint, re-grease, and re-assemble any parts that need repair.

Pulled the crank out, and the bearings are completely bone dry. Not even any grease residue. Pulling them the bearing carrier bent a bit (I got it back to just about good but).

Which bearings can you recomend, or should I just take it in to the bike shop and have them pick out a set that matches the size?

Just take it to a shop, those bearings are only a couple of bucks and the easiest way to get a match is to have the old one in hand.
