A guy in my office rides one of these. A real conversation piece. He keeps it folded under his desk. I rode it once in the parking lot. :)
His had no chain, was belt-driven, and one-speed. Gets you noticed quickly.
I had one. If I stood to pedal, when starting from a light, the belt would slip. It was an earlier model with drum brakes instead of disks. It folds very quickly and compactly but with no gears, it could not be useful to me. The return went smoothly.
I saw that in one of the stores. discs for a folder seem like overkill, but the single speed (even a 3sp) is a killer for where I live.
