Introductions - New to Road Bikes in SoCal.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just purchased a 1988 Schwinn Circuit road bike.
picked it up for 50 bucks from a nice dude from around orange county.
already took off the gearing and just waiting for my Singlespeed conversion kit to come in the mail.
i have no idea what im doing but i guess ill learn from my mistakes!
been browsing this forum for a while, but never joined until tonight! hope to learn from all of you!
Cheers and welcome to the Forums.
We're happy to share the mistakes we've learned from, if you do the same. :D In your situation, the Singlespeed and Fixed Gear -subforum (SSFG) is probably the place to start.

Hi Rainiers, how did you come up with the username? I thought you were going to be a new person from Puget Sound :D .
If you've been lurking for a while, you probably already know it exists, but don't forget to visit the SoCal regional forum as well.
Welcome to BF!

Very nice! What saddle did you put on it, since you apparently removed the stock one?

i still have the stock white one, but its not white anymore, its really really in bad shape so its off the bike for now till i figure out how to redo the seat

Could be easier just to buy a new one...but I know that people here have redone saddles before. Never tried it myself, however.

It's gonna be fun to experiment. Just hope it's comfy in all the right places. :p
