hey I am new here... and I could really use some help... I am just finished building a track bike... my only problem is that the dropouts are horizontal and when the chain pulls hard enough the wheel starts to come out of the dropout... it is not a normal track frame with back loading dropouts.... this is a big problem and I am worried that my wheel will actualkly come out of the frame.. please help..
I built a fixed gear from a road bike with horizontal dropouts. The only time I had a problem with the wheel slipping is when I used wingnuts instead of tracknuts. Bolt them on tight and you'll be all right (outtasight).
Are you going to race it, or have you built it for road-riding?
