Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I finally decided on a trek 7200 for my new bike. My last decision was to choose between a 2000 year model for $259 or a 2004 for $349. I walked in the store and asked to try the older model. The salesman took the bike and checked it over. I took it for a ride, but the shifting was clunky and it skipped gears, so I brought it back in and asked to try the new model. The store owner put it on the stand and set it up. I went for a ride in the parking lot, and the chain slipped off the small chain ring. I walked it back into the store, and the owner in a nasty tone said "What did you do to it! " He then decided I needed a lesson. He told me I didn't need to use low gears on a flat surface. Needless to say I walked out of the shop with my money. On the way home I stopped at a different shop, and purchased my bike . The salesman was a mechanic, and took
a half hour to set up my new bike, I am very happy. I want to thank all of you for the help in the forums, especially Miamijim for his help on getting a fair price. I got a 10% discount on the 2004 model, and feel good about that. Thanks again for answering all my questions!

Congratulations!

I'm sure you'll love riding your new bike, especially knowing that you got a good deal from a shop that will give you good service into the future. Don't forget to take it back in for that 30 day tuneup - you will have some cable stretch, so the brakes and derailleurs will likely need adjusting.

Enjoy your riding....

Oh, and we always like bike porn around here, so...
