I'm looking to do my first triathlon this summer and I'm looking into a cheap pair of shorts. I'm not too serious about triathlons and I'm just doing this just to see how I like triathloning so I don't need a super nice pair of shorts. Does anyone have any experience with these people and their shorts? Here is a link (http://store.aerotechdesigns.com/cltrsh.html)to their tri shorts.Thanks.

P.S. I posted this in the Triathlon forum and got one response telling me that I'd get more information on the Road Forum. There, they told me I'd get a better response from this forum.

I'm wearing a pair of their bibs as I type (just got back from my ride):p

Comfortable and great service, shipped out the same day. Also their fitting guide seems to be spot on for sizing.

I've had a pair for awhile now. Sturdy and good quality!

Very nice gear, in a wide range of real person sizes.
I wear both their cycling shorts and shirts.

Mazama, Are you using bibs? Just wondering if they are long enough for us.

No. I had considered them, but I wondered about strain on the shoulders as well. For now I am content with my gut hanging over the waistband

http://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repository/Musique/danse-du-ventre.gifThe problem I have is if I pull the waistband up over my gut then it rolls down under again. I want to try bibs - I've asked for a pair for my birthday - we'll see.

Aerotech makes some excellent clothing If you are interested in their bibs, don't hesitate to try a pair. They do run big in the butt and legs, by my recollection. I don't use them anymore since losing the weight. I have a couple of pairs of either XL or XXL, I'll check later today. I will send them to someone who could use them for the cost of postage (about $6.00 @) if you PM me FCFS.

I've used Aero Tech's shorts and like them. You can get shorts less expensively on sale at Performance or Nashbar, but I think Aero Tech's quality and feel are better than comparably priced shorts from Performance or Nashbar. I like that they have colors other than black, including some "far out" prints that my wife hates but that I love (http://store.aerotechdesigns.com/wiprbish.html).

A guy from Aerotech sells shorts and jerseys at the little expo prior to TOSRV (the infamous Columbus Ohio double century) every year. The prices seem reasonable and I have a friend that I went with who has bought from them (he's a clyde and so am I) and he likes them. Personally, I have not tried them but to be honest with you - I wasn't overly impressed with the constructions. The lycra seems far too lightweight for what a clyde needs. Theses might be good for hot summer riding. I prefer my bib shorts to be constructed of a much heavier lycra. I have a pair of "Pace" brand size XL bibs that have the durable but comfortable construction I'm talking about. They are durably double stitched from like 8 or 10 panels and hold my gut a little tighter which works better for me. Also some of the Voler's are really nice as well.

I'm a tiny guy, 130 lbs 5'7" so the construction doesn't need to be super hefty for me, but I posted here because I heard that a lot of you guys use their stuff.

I have found their bibs do not cause me any shoulder issues. Nice belly dancer dude.

Given your height, you'd likely have to go custom anyhoo. ;)

I own several pair of Aerotech bibs and are happy with them. The one pair is well over a year old and would be hard pressed to see any difference between them and the pair my wife bought me for Christmas. My only complaint might be the high front. My Volers I can pull down in front to take a wet one, with the Aero you either have to pull down the straps or whip it out the leg.

Two seasons ago I purchased a pair of the 8 panel shorts from Aerotech and a pair of Performance brand 8 panel shorts.
I have to say:the Aerotech shorts have proved to be the more comfortable and durable.
Kathy Schnaubelt says: The new custom jerseys (I have the bear, the tour and..da Pink Flamingo)are on the way. Cannot wait!

The same people who drive a Japanese car, have a German made camera, and a Danish made stereo with British made speakers. This is only possible because of cheap oil, the days of cheap oil though are drawing to a close, and it's going to get a lot more expensive to ship cheap stuff from China. When it costs $40 for a Chinese ,made T-shirt, and $30 for a domestic one, how many Chinese made shirts are you going to sell....

Check out velowear.com. Voler's top shelf stuff is very nice for the price.

If you want an even better price, go to hammernutrition.com and pick up their trishorts.

I know this is a really old thread, but I thought it was appropriate since the subject was regarding experiences with Aero Tech Designs. I ordered some gear from them on this past Monday. I Know it was memorial day so I didn't really expect to get a confirmation that day. It's now Friday and I still haven't received any sort of email saying my order has been processed/shipped. I tried calling all the numbers on their web site but my call was never answered. Should I be concerned? I've read about all the good experiences people have had with them, especially regarding quick shipment, so I guess I'm wondering if I did something wrong when placing my order through PayPal. I'm inclined to think that isn't the case as the funds have already been withdrawn from my account. I have emailed them so hopefully that will yield some results.

Any insight from the group would be great.

How timely this thread is!

I ordered a 2XL shirt and it arrived super fast. However, I am 6'0" tall and 292lbs and the shirt is WAY too small - my wife was rolling on the floor when I tried it on as it didnt even cover my belly-button.Its VERY small.

I emailed them and asked to switch out for a 4XL - so far no reply from them - 24 hours later...

I ordered my shorts from Aero Tech after I ordered something from another store, and I received the Aero Tech shorts in the mail before the other store even shipped my order. Total turnaround was like 3 days. If you haven't heard anything from them, there's probably an error somewhere. Do you think you could have typed your email in wrong? I ordered in the evening and got an "order shipped" email the next day.

Well, my email address is connected to my paypal account, so there really is no way for me to give them a wrong email address. The only confirmation I received so far was from Paypal confirming the authorization to send the funds.

Oh yeah, PayPal. haha. I looked back at my emails and saw that I never got any order confirmations, just shipment notices. They do say that they sometimes have to manufacture items for sale, so maybe you ordered something that was out of stock, and they didn't tell you?

This has happened to me both the times I ordered with Alert Shirt and for that and other reasons I'm not going to order from them again.

Anyway Aero Tech has been really good in my experience. Hope you get it sorted out without too much irritation.

AeroTechDesigns is a member of BF, so you can shoot him a PM and he'll look into it, I'm quite sure. Matter of fact, I just pinged him with a PM myself.

Hehe. It's bike shorts buying season: I ordered 3 red pairs of the classic bike shorts in women's plus size 4X from Toronto, Canada last Thursday. They arrived in the mail yesterday and I wore one of them today. I'm really impressed with the shipping speed (a week by mail over the border is awesome), the quality of the shorts, and that I was able to use the 10% discount code. I'm definitely ordering more in the next couple of months. I'm thinking a few more shorts in purple, bike tights, and a couple of jerseys.

I wore the new red classic bike shorts under Terry's mtb shorts because the padding in the Terry's causes tears and chafing. I also find the mtb shorts ride up to my upper thigh and that's a bit too much flesh showing. The padding in the classic shorts is light weight but much more comfortable compared to the loose, diaper like foam chamois in the Terry's. Together they keep my Athena butt comfy. The classic bike shorts are generously cut and I think next time I'm ordering a 3X instead because the waist is pretty high (up to my underarms).

Hmmmm, this place may be my next trial...... sounds interesting.

I don't go in for much fancy stuff, usually just black shorts, and non descript bright colored jerzys --- might find a new gem in there....

So it looks like everything has been cleared up. Turns out they had to manufacture one of the jerseys I ordered. They said I should receive everything in 2-3 days. Once I got in touch with them the customer service/response time was great. I'm sure I'll be buying from them again.

I think I said in this thread that I didn't get an order confirmation email for my Aero Tech orders, but I just went looking and found all of Aero Tech's communication in my spam folder! Gmail is usually pretty good about sorting, but it didn't get that one right. Just wanted to set the record straight and give a hint to anyone having similar problems.

I've bought from them. Great stuff!

I bought their windbreaker. It was destroyed in a crash. So 3 weeks later I order another one, explaining why I needed it. They included a nice note, and a complementary cinch bag.
