Anybody use anything for 50-60 degree weather. I was looking at this here: http://www.pearlizumi.com/pearlizumi/site/catalog/product.aspx?iProductTypeSubID=18&iProductID=2995&iProductColorsTB=6062

I guess I'm cheap because those prices seem a little steep for clothing for 50-60 degree weather.

I found an inexpensive Sugoi windbreaker for about $35 for the 50 degree weather.
If the temperature is in the 60s I go with a base layer under a jersey (l/s or s/s and arm warmers).

yes they are a bit high, where do you buy the Sugoi stuff

Many bike shops and REI carry Sugoi. REI is where I bought mine.
I'm not crazy about Sugoi. The BikeForums jerseys are from Sugoi and the way they are cut is really for "European" riders, not American.

If you look around you can probably find a better price.

For riding in 50-60 degree weather, I prefer a wind blocking vest over a regular old long sleeve jersey. I wear a Castelli Stratos vest but you could get something comparable for a lot less than the 140 retail of a Castelli.

Arm warmers come in handy in weather like many see this time of year. I'll usually do a base layer and arm warmers if it's in the upper 50s if it's going to top 60 and be sunny. Cooler and I have a Pearl Izumi Vagabond jacket with removeable sleeves. I wear it as a vest a lot of the time, but the sleeves are pretty handy. Under 50 and I'll start layering, eventually putting on the Gore Tex jacket I got from Performance a couple of years ago. Pit zips are the only way to go on something like that.

I have found that for 50 - 60 degree weather all you really need is something to block the wind. Any more insulation than that and you’ll overheat. The jacket you use for rain protection should work well.

I bought my rain/chilly jacket from Performance bike for about $40

I just picked up a snug fitting zippered windbreaker (jogging suit top is what it looks like) in bright yellow, with a storm flap, at Mal Mart for 12.00 bucks. It is packable, stops wind and light rain, and disposable (if needed).

Light weight jacket season is only three weeks long in Cleveland. I'll save the big bucks for the real cold weather gear.

Hope this helps, ehenz

I use this (http://www.pearlizumi.com/pearlizumi/site/catalog/product.aspx?iProductTypeSubID=18&iProductID=2992&iProductColorsTB=6316) .

Since the arms zip off, it's useful in a range of temperatures. I will layer under it in cold weather, and when it's just kind of cool, I wear it over a light long-sleeve jersey. The sleeves usually come off as the temperature goes up. It is expensive, but I've learned to shop on-line for cold weather stuff in July.

50-60 degrees? that's like 10-15 C. for that temperature, get some arm warmers and a wind vest. if you must have a jacket, spend $30 on a generic wind cheating shell. the pearl stuff is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced.

Ditto.

I use a Louis Garneau vest with nylon front and mesh back. It's about 50g of material but it makes a huge difference.

I just use an Old Navy windbreaker over a double T-shirt combo with arm warmers. Only problem is that the windbreaker is the right size for normal wear but is "over sized" for the bike (flaps in the breeze a lot). I may go get one size smaller so it fits a tad tighter. A cheapo windbreaker really is all you need IMHO.
