Wondering which way from San Francisco to Panoramic Highway do you prefer and why?
1. From Mill Valley, Miller, Montford, Molino, Edgewood, Panoramic.
2. Tam Valley Junction, Shoreline, Panoramic.
Thanks..

3. Miller, Throckmorton, Cascade Way, Cascade Drive, Marion to right on Edgewood to Panoramic.
Then 1 then 2.
Option 3 has the least traffic and the climb is the most gradual.
I don't like riding north on Shoreline highway, too many cars.

I'll second Pizzas' 3rd option although I do a variation on it. From Cascade Way (Old Mill Park) I go up Molino and then a right on Birch to Edgewood. I don't know why......it's just the way I've always done it. It felt like the most direct route up the hill from the park. I'll try Marion Ave. next time. This way may take a few more minutes if you're coming from SF but there's much less (and slower) traffic.
I still take Montford (2 a.m. Club) every once in a while for variety. If you follow the bike route signs at the junction of Montford and Molino you can cut off that real steep section and there's absolutely no traffic for a bit.
Save that section of Shoreline Hwy. for coming downhill......I agree, too much traffic.
Thanks a lot for the different routes, I have them printed and will try it next time. I'm trying to learn all the best routes because I haven't been to Tam since 1976 wow! and have long forgotten.
I do remember that stretch of Shoreline was very crowded back then, one car after another nonstop, it must be terrible today.
Thanks and ride safe,
