Anyone ever deal with this?

I completely tore my quad tendon 2 weeks ago and had surgery 1 week ago today. Dr. has me in a brace for another 5-7 weeks before I can start therapy. He is saying in 6 months I should be good as new.

Obviously I'm hoping for sooner, but I want this to heal properly as well.

I was coming down the stairs and just missed a step....dumb, dumb, dumb. :(

So, anyone else ever have to deal with this and if so how did your recovery go?

I've never dealt with it, but I would imagine that part of your therapy will be on a stationary bike and the motion of pedaling would be good for recovery.

Well I went on my first "outside" ride on 4/5, 62 days from my surgery. I still don't walk real well but man did it feel good to be able to ride a bit outside :) Still doing therapy and riding the stationary bike but it's progress.

A good quality cold compression wrap will help with the healing, rehabilitation, and be useful after rides to keep pain and swelling (inflammation) under control. Much easier than ice and wrapping with bandages.
