Now that the road season has started, I'm sure you're thinking (in these exact words), "I wonder what's going on with the best cycling team the world has ever, and will ever, see... Team Bearclaw."

I'm glad to announce that Team Bearclaw has raced a total of 2 races; Mothballs & Red Trolley.

Most of you are probably assuming that the team swept the podium in both of these races, and you would almost be right in assuming so. The team WOULD have swept the podium if it werent for unexplainable, rare and unforunate mechanicals.

Check out the website HERE (http://www.teambearclaw.com/road)

First of all, you can go to the news section to read about what happened and why Bearclaw didn't sweep the podium in both races. Truth and absolute honesty is rare these days, and I am proud to say that all of the race reports are 100% honest, accurate and true.

You can also go to the "Results" page to see the upcoming races, predicted results and actual results.

The photo page is slowly being updated, but it's slow going, as most of the teams riders are under contract with various modeling agencies, which makes it difficult for Team Bearclaw to get permission to use photos that show their faces.

You can also use this thread to ask questions about the team, as I am sure there are many. Don't expect to get much information about the team owner, Chet Bearclaw. We really don't know enough about him... except that he stunt flys his private 747, is an avid volcano jumper, and has been known to race his private speedboat inspired yacht.

Precisely (and I just read about the Caltech guy, so I'm expecting some serious significant digits) how awesome is that team car?

Team Bear claw has a nice decked out tour bus no? I've passed by it, and there's always tons of people waiting outside waiting for autographs and pictures with these guys. They are real nice guys they have their assistants sign autographs for them and as mentioned you aren't really allowed to take pictures of them. Nice guys.

Your team website has cheesy embedded sound, therefore you will all lose. Remove it and your record of fail will turn around.

Look at it this way... the team car (which was named "The Black Pearl" by the engineers who desinged it) is a one of a kind automobile capable of things you wouldn't beleive. If NASA had a fraction of the technology that resides in the black pearl, we would already have a colony on Pluto.

As for numbers, I'll contact the CalTech guy and have him break it down to a mathematic equation for you.

Are you serious? I bet the guy talks about the sighting almost every day, right? Kind of like guys who are abducted by aliens; it's all they talk about.

How drunk was Chet?

True story, all of it. The bus should be at the Crit in Brea. If anyone wants to come hang out in it, there is a $100 cover charge...

...OR, you can prove to us that:

1. You wont talk about any classified information you may or may not find inside of the bus.
2. You're down to watch Nacho Libre several consecutive times.

She's smokin damn hot....

...BUT, George is cool and he's pretty damn manly. No luck for us.

It was good meeting both of you guys :)

The guys in the 1/2 race did really well, considering the field. Alejandro (whos a freak of nature) went off the front a few times to catch the Jelly belly guy (and also to look cool) but never was able to make it stick.

As for the bikes, they were custom painted by a guy named Chuck Morris (pretty badass name) who races Cross. They're not 100% done yet, they still need all the decals to finish it off. Underneath the paint, they're '08 Tarmac Pro's.

Team Bearclaw buying Rock Racing? There are rumors, yes. The same thing was going to happen last year, Chet was planning on buying Discovery, but realized that the caliber of the riders wasn't really what he wanted. There was also some talk with two guys from Toyota-United, but it never happened (if Ivan Dominguez ever comes back on here, he'll tell you what I'm talking about, haha) Apparantly, they wanted more than $100 per season, which Chet didn't think they were worth ;)

Enzo Gucci
02-10-08, 04:33 PM
Oh, and in case anyone was wondering why nobody from Bearclaw won in the P/1/2 race... well, it was another unfortunate mechanical (which led to another Mechanic being fired)

Story and photographic evidence will be coming soon.

That was the most miserable sprint of my life. I was on the front the entire last lap alone and I was getting really tired, but I opened up the sprint at the bottom of that hill coming out of the 3rd turn. I've got a good sprint from the BMX days, but there is no way I can sprint that far after being out front alone.

Thanks for the picture.

Cheers.

Poor thing. Had I known it was the "most miserable sprint of your life", I would have taken more time to console you after the race. :p Anyway...you got the job done and looked good doing it...which is almost as important as winning. Style counts. :D

Enzo Gucci

The ToC isn't really ready for Team Bearclaw quite yet, which is lucky for all of the other teams.

When I saw Zabriske in the Prologue, I wondered the same thing. It turns out he talked to Chet a few weeks before the prologue, and Chet taught him how to grow a mustache. Pretty incredible, huh?

Oh, also... Team Bearclaw was banned from the Tour De France by the ASO. Check the website for the story...

Oh, Chet LOVES women. That's not the issue. It's a conflict of interests, though. Since he sleeps with everyone women he meets, it's difficult for him to hire them

^ A cocktail dress and a tasteful strand of pearls would certainly change the public perception of professional cycling. If nothing else, it'd give the guys in the Road Cycling forum fodder for another 12-page critique of team fashion.
