This Friday, I'm taking my sister's bike on the 5:49pm 542 Capitols train (Amtrak) from Berkeley to Davis, which we will leave in Davis before heading home for the weekend. This train has bike storage, but I'm wondering if anyone knows how crowded the train will be.
Since it's right after quitting time on a Friday, I imagine it might me kinda snug. Anyone know?

Expect it to be pretty crowded.
Does the UC shuttle still run between the two campuses? If so, check into that as (I presume) it's free if you're a student.

It does, but it doesn't have bike racks. I might be able to take the bike if I packed it in a box, but the bus only runs once each direction on weekdays, and it doesn't fit my schedule. And since I'm taking the train home next weekend anyway, I figured I'd just make this little detour first.
Around holidays it is crowded, otherwise not so much. I don't think you will have much trouble.
