I volunteered to be a Course Marshal for the Stage 3 (Modesto -> S.J.) finish on Wednesday 2/20. I attended an orientation meeting yesterday and the organizers said they are still looking for more volunteers. Location will be "somewhere within S.J. city limits" which could be anywhere from out by Piedmont (Sierra area, though not *on* Sierra itself) on into downtown -- you don't find out specifically where until the day of the race. They need people for every intersection, driveway, etc. etc..

It will be pretty much an all-afternoon affair (check-in at noon in downtown, then go out to your post until the broom wagon passes...estimated 3:30 but you know how that goes). And then you can come party (ha ha) at the festival downtown after the stage is done.

They sent me a volunteer position for the Santa Rosa Finish line.

I may be missing something as they do not explain in detail where do I have to report, at what time, whom to talk to, what are going to be my tasks, etc.

If someone can give more details about this let me know.
