Hi all,

I'm a 30 somethin' male riding in sunny San Diego who just found out how awesome road cycling really is. Still coming to grips with the joys of riding by the seaside after committing to a new road bike just recently. The sound of the breeze and the sights of the ocean without the engine noise is just about the best means of recharging!

These days I spend most of my time tinkering around with the bike trying to figure out how everything fits and works. Hope it will help getting to know my machine better.

Looking forward to meeting as many folks as possible in these forums.

Hello Asgard, the sound of a bicycle tyre softly whooshing underneath one as one rides along the path is much more appealing than the constant noise of motor engines. Cars simply seal you off from your environment...ugh.

In your case, you get the added incentive of breathing crisp salt air. Ahhh...wonderful!

Welcome to BF!

Nice to meet you both. Thank you for the welcome East Hill.

In my early teens, I used to ride my BMX around the streets near the home but never quite got the kind of buzz that my current cycling's been giving me. Guess my appreciation's different these days. The crisp salty air is most certainly an incentive to get out of bed at 5am and hit the road. The winter mornings have certainly been crispy with high chill factors but it's been all worthwhile especially during sunrise.

Been lucky enough to head out at dusk once or twice after work and witnessed the breathtaking view of the bay and the city skyline. It's been simply stunning!
