Hi,
Im New.
My bike has a quill stem but the actual bolt wont screw in after taking the handlebars off. HELP??

Here's my guess:
Did you lose the wedge? It could be buried (fallen) at the bottom of the steerer tube. Take a look.

We need more specifics. Which bolt? The one on top or the one that hold the handlebars in. By "screw in", do you mean loosen? Or tighten?

Ive probally lost the wedge as theres nothing at the bottom of the steering tube and just generally it dosent feel as if its going to tighten it just sort of wobbles about after I put it down the stem.
Dose anyone know where I can get one reletivly cheap?

Look real well around the area where you removed and carried the handlebars. That part isn't that small and you should be able to find it. I lose parts all the time in my work shop area. I usually find them under the cabinets where they rolled. You will need to go to an LBS (preferrably one that has been in business for a long time) and take the stem with you to find one that works. Don't lose the small washer that is on the top of the bolt that allows you to tighten bolt on top with out galling the Al. If that doesn't work then try eBay for an older stem. What type (model) of stem is it?
