What are your thoughts on this bike (for a beginner)? and how does it compare to a Gary Fisher Tassajara?

Yes I did already purchase the Jamis... same day I made this post actually. But I was still curious about the bikes in general. I am pretty new to researching, understanding components etc.

I am planning on biking to and from (and around) my university campus every day, and I would also like to get into off road/mountain biking. This has been the first bike I have ridden on in 6 or 7 years, and I am having a blast. This weekend I am going to take it to a local trail around town.

Oh yeah, unwritten rule around here about new bikes and required photos. Your first duty is to get the bike muddy, second is to take a picture of it!

I attend Florida State University and I am studying the wonderous field of "I don't know." I am studying it all. I would love to get into the music Program under jazz trombone. But who knows?

Urrrrggggghhhhhhh another Nole!

Me, I'm a GATOR! I know, I know, but I married a Nole! I actually really like Tallahassee (the town), but refuse to live there as it would be a betrayel to my alma matre.

Tom Brown Park is awesome, I also really like the Red Bug trail. Any new trails? I haven't ridden up there in about 2 years.
