Hi everyone. I've been lurking the forum for a bit trying to search out advice on road bikes and what features to look for until i finally figured out that looking is useless w/o being able to use the search function.
I'm from lansdale, PA, northwest of philly by about 45min. and currently i stay in reading, PA for school. I just purchased my first real bike.
previously I had a BMX bike when i was 12 or so and various small 2nd hand mountain bikes. I purchased a 2006 Jamis Ventura Elite for about $700 with the tags still on the bike.
I'm 21 years old and graduating from penn state in may. I plan on riding back and forth to school most days because i'm only about 5 miles from campus and my roommates have a different schedule then i do, and doing longer rides on weekends or during my free time. I recently started going to the gym to get back in shape, because i'd been slacking. every morning at 6:45 and then a 2nd session of cardio in the afternoon. I hope to add cycling as a sport and part of my routine to improve my fitness. I guess i'd be considered a clyde as well. I'm 5'10" and ~240lbs, pretty much solid though, always have been.
well, i look forward to being a part of the community
