The news is reporting -40 degrees (without the wind chill) in Inernational Falls, MN. Is this the point where you say; hell with cycling clothes and, don the superior yet bulky down garments and throw in some chemical warmers here and there? Or, do you just leave the bike at home and sit by the fire waiting on warmer times?

It would depend on the wind. With little or no wind, I would try to ride. I would look/feel like the goodyear blimp from all the clothes, but I would try it.

I've ridden down to -15F air temp (plus windchill), so what's another 25 degrees colder? :D

The only thing that would concern me is mechanical problems. Have a tire problem, and you are in trouble!

According to Accuweather, it was -25*f. Damn cold, to be sure. I'd wear pretty much what I wore today, only with a fleece layer instead of thermal poly. Three layers work for me.

I'd wear what I wore two weeks ago. Just more layers, no chemical warmers needed.

I would take some chem warmers to be on the safe side, but if no wind I don't think it would be too bad. My coldest so far is -15 temp and -30 wind chill with no problems..
