So after mulling and deciding I don't want a trailer (we're moving to the beach soon and a child seat seems most fun for beach rides), I've decided on an adult tricycle with a child seat. What sort of attachment do I need to buy for the child seat on the back of the trike? Looking at them online, they come with a basket in back which I'd love to use... Maybe a front seat is a better option?
Anyone have experience or opinions on this? Thanks!

I've replaced the basket and fabricated a mount for a child seat. I don't know of a specific child seat manufacturer for adult trikes.

I saw a child seat on a trikes at the lightfoot cycles site. You might check there and see if it'll work for you

This is the only choice you have unless you buy a "Worksman" tricycle.

ALL "Worksman" cycles are American made and made to LAST!

I went that route, ...only I needed more than 1 kids seat. ;)
There are TWO kids in the trailer.
The 7 yr olds seat is a wood base with padding & upholstery on top of the rear rack.
I made footpegs that attach on the lower rack mounting bolts.
The teenager is the Stoker.
