Sorry. All my love is being channelled to the Braves at the moment.
But thanks for asking!
even when the Cubs win I will have to congradulate your team on an amazing series, you gave us a run for our money, good luck next year
Go Cubs!!!!!!!!!
I was at game three of the Cubs Yanks series no way
Cubs loose, best of luck vs Twinkies
Go Cubs!!!!
I'm a Chicago boy although admittedly I grew up near Comisky Park but I like the Cubs when they win and I like them when they lose. I'm not much of a baseball fan but I am a Cubs fan... if that makes any sense. Anyways... Go Cubs!!!

w.p. kinsella once wrote a short story in which the manager of the cubs learns that the year the cubs win the pennant is the year of the end of the world. he's in a penant race, and has a dilemma: win or save the world...
just thought i'd mention that...

My dream World Series would be the Cubs against the Red or White Sox. To see one of these three teams end 75+ years of futility is a once in a lifetime event. Hopefully we will see a Boston/ Chicago WS this year.

A Cubs/Red Sox series could be one of the triggers that sets of the Apocalypse I would be afraid :D
My prediction Cubs/Yankees
Go Cubs!

I'm sad to see the Bravos lose but I'm glad it was the Cubs.
Now I want to see Kerry pitch to the fish the way he pitched to the Braves.

From a life long BRAVES fan since 1966. I would have liked to see my team get to and win the WS. But since that is not going to happen I have to go to my second best scenario, that being a Red Sox/ Cubs series. Believe it or not I don't care who wins as long as one does.
PS As an ex New Yorker....Yankees suck!!!!!!!!
Go Sox!
:D
Would that be red or white? ;)
White, of course!
(Or Black, depending on what era you're talking about!!! :D )

Fish like chicken actually goes bad pretty quickly when left out :D
I think this is going to be a good series thay both really want it so neither one is going to roll over.

Koffee, I hope you at least have the Chicago cubs spirit pumping through you since you live out there.
I have never lived in chicago, but after the Dodgers, the Cubs are #1. This series is very exciting. I sooo want a Cubs/Red Sox series.
Well, I'm happy for them, but I'm still not exactly a cubs fan. I'll root for them because they're in Chicago.
Cubs are more set up for the yuppies and monied people, while the White Sox are on the southside and more for the regular joes and middle class people. I prefer the White Sox over the Cubs anyday. :-/

Yes, a Red/White Sox Championship series would be nice.

Ah HArry CAry I don't know how many times I got grounded for listening to him call the Cards games when I was supposed to be sleeping. In '67 we lived in STL for a year (Good year I might add the Cards took the Red Sox in the series that year) its funny how getting in trouble as a kid brings a smile to your face as an old fart
And it would be very cool to have a Cubs/Sox series but I don't now if I would be able to handle all the media hoopla around a series like that.

And... It might be! It could be!! It is!! Holy Cow!!
Wow Gus...
If only Harry Carey could be around to see this. He'd be so happy after so many years of service to the Cubs. He is missed during times like this. I could just hear him now saying that after the three home runs last night, especially the Sammy Sosa home run.
Hooooooooooooooly Cow!

Last night the Cubbies won, but it was close. The score ended up being 5 to 4, in the 11th inning. A running error by Marlin's Castillo ended the game.
7th inning tonight...Cubbies 8, Marlins 2. Fingers are crossed!
Fingers crossed for what? ;)
Dang, they better not blow that lead! I heard they got like 4 runs scored in the first 10 minutes of the game! What the heck is that all about?
Thanks for the report.

Sorry everyone, but I've been a Cub hater dating back to the days of Billy Williams, Ron Santo, Ernie Banks, the bleacher bums and Mr. "Hey-Hey" Jack Brickhouse. The northsiders have always been uppity and I can only imagine what they would be like if the Cubs won the World Series.
A White Sox fan

The only team I wouldn't mind never seeing win again is the New York Yankees, followed by the New York Mets. Of course, this is also my Dodger upbringing speaking.

Ran into a friend at the store the other day. "How 'bout them Cubbies?" I asked.
"I'm a White Sox fan," he said, somewhat abashed.
I said, "Yeah. Fine. Whatever. But how 'bout them Cubbies."
"Ya know, it is pretty cool," he said.

I remember 1984. A three game lead, only one more needed to go to the World Series... Padres came back and won three or four in a row to take it away from the Cubs!!! Heartbreak... :(

I was just telling my wife last night, "I'm having flashbacks to junior high. Let's hope it isn't full-on deja-vu." :D
Aaaaah... awwwwwwww...
Oh well, back to Chicago for the next game!
I'm still not a cubs fan, but loyal to Chicago in general, so I will root, root root for the home team, just like Harry told us to do in the seventh inning stretch.

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
I couldn't believe my eyes.
I have to say, it was funny.
I was moving today, so I didn't keep track, and when we finished moving, we called home to see who won- they said top of the eighth, Cubs 3, Marlins, 0.
By the time we finished eating, and got back to the car, we turn on the radio, and they said Cubs 3, Marlins 8! We both screamed like little girls, then laughed at ourselves.
Typical Cubs- choking and dropping the win. :(
Koffee
Geez, too bad for the Cubs. Here's hoping they can pull it off tomorrow.
I'll bet that boneheaded fan doesn't get much sleep tonight, if he even makes it home. It's gonna suck being him when he goes into work tomorrow.
