The airport parkway undercrossings project is completed! That may be old news, but I just tried them out for the first time today. Now I can take the guadalupe river trail all the way from willow glen to trimble instead of cutting down first street and dealing with traffic lights and cars...

Anyhow, thought I'd share because I know a few of you also commute by the airport.

I take Coleman/de La Cruz from Market and Santa Clara St to get to Central.
Have they paved the trail all the way from the 880 to the north end of the airport?
... or did they just finish the undercrossing?

No, just the undercrossings are paved... The ground is pretty solid hardpacked dirt otherwise, although the part just after the guadalupe trail is more bumpy so I use the road and then cut back onto the trail at skyport. I rode it on my commuter w/ road tires no problem, almost as good as pavement. Unfortunately, I don't think they're planning to pave the whole trail. I wish they would but at least it's usable as is.
Hey, thanks for the info. So all I need to do is find a way to get on the damn thing from Central and Coleman. Can I hit it from that road that circles the airport?

Yeah, the trail is next to the road that circles the airport. Like I said, it's a little bumpy in parts, but I do it on a road bike no problem. For me, rather than taking first street up to trimble, I get to stay on the trail.. even though it's a little bumpy that's better and more peaceful than dodging traffic.
If you mean Central and De La Cruz, there's an entrance to the trail/levee on trimble. Basically, from the central/de la cruz spot you go across 101 and the entrance is right there.
