Touring - racks and panniers

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I have a older novara corsa sport bike that I will be using for longdistance self sustained tour. I was wondering if anyone had recomendations on which would be the most affordable and effective racks and panniers for my tour.
Thank you, your advice is very much appreciated

If you want affordable and effective, I'd recommend a Blackburn EX-1 (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=6000112&subcategory=60001079&brand=&sku=13179&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat%3A%20Racks) ($29.99 right now at Nashbar (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=6000112&subcategory=60001079&brand=&sku=13179&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat%3A%20Racks)) on the back and a Nashbar Front Rack (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=6000112&subcategory=60001079&brand=&sku=7723&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat%3A%20Racks)($14.99). I used the Blackburn rear on several tours, including a 1200 mile trip down the west coast with an awfully big load. I used the Blackburn Lowriders on the front, and the Nashbar looks to be the exact same rack (?) I had no problems whatsoever with either of them. At those prices I think they're quite a deal.

thank you so much for your excellent advice, I went ahead and ordered both racks. Also, do you have any suggestions for front panniers.
Your knowledge is very much appreciated,
Joseph

Two of us used the exact same racks for our 4,244 mile TransAmerica tour last Summer. We were very happy with them and the price is good.

If you aren't looking to spend a lot... We found Nashbar Waterproof Panniers to work well for us. Performance also sells the exact same model as well as the Transit series, both of which are a good value IMO.

God I love forums, I have a question and I just get on here and it is usually already worked out, I will be getting the rear rack and the panniers you suggested Mr. Staehling so thank you for the tip. BTW, I read your journal on cgoab.com and was very inspired by you and your daughters trek, you guys seemed to have a lot of fun and not too many issues, I hope mine goes as well (I think I have enlisted a riding partner from my work). Thanks again.
