Introductions - Hello from the coldest place on earth....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Winnipeg!

Well okay it`s not the coldest place but sometimes it`s pretty damned close!

I ride an Eaton Road King (who knows when it was made) for the Winter months. It used to be a ten speed but deraileurs(sp) have been stripped off and I put some nobby tires on it for the snow. (The rims are 27 X 1 1/4), and a frankenbike for summer....or did. I am currently looking for an amazing Road bike that is both fast and comfortable for long hauls as I`m planning on riding to Toronto in August.

Just thought I`d say hi.

Hello darkfinger, does this mean you're out there right now riding in the snow?

Welcome to BF!

Thanks guys, I look forward to learning lots from everyone here.

East Hill, I`m loving the snow right now. If it wasn`t -40 degrees centigrade (with the windchill) right now I`d be much happier but at least there`s no spray running up my back!

Yes, well, I live in Puget Sound and I know all too well whereof you speak about the spray up the back :p .

darkfinger - Welcome to BF !

You should snap a few pics of that Road King and put them in then Classic and Vintage forum... Eatons had their bikes made for them by CCM and Raleigh and some are very easy to Id because of the similar fork crowns used.

Is it anything like this one ?
