Howdy y'all,
We've got two weekends left in February, so maybe we can put something together this week or next week?
There's the organized ride options:
-This Sunday (2/17) there is the Wild Wild West End Ride starting at 8 AM, at Foster High School north of Rosenberg. $25 at active.com. The website with info is here. (http://www.teamwestend.org/)
-Saturday the 23rd, the Humble Lions Ride in Humble (http://www.humblelionsclub.com/bikeride_08.html), starting at 8 AM.
-Sunday, the 24th, for a challenging option (and we do have the MS150 coming up in less than 60 days, folks), there's the Tri-county Hill-Hopper. (http://www.hillhopper.org/index.htm) They have a 67 mile route, with hills. Sounds like fun!:D
We can also do our own ride somewhere, if anyone has any ideas. I'm out of them.
Let's get things going here and figure something out.... I started raising money last week for the MS150, so I'm pumped about getting out there with y'all and getting in some miles.

Of the rides listed the Hill Hopper sounds the most interesting. I'm stuck going to a party with the wifes co workers on the saturday night before that ride so that might give us an excuse to leave a little early.

That is the power of positive thinking, Steve!
I agree, the Hill Hopper sounds like a blast, and a good challenge.

I'll have to get back to you. I have some busy weekends coming up. With that said... with the shape I'm in.... It's scary when you two talk about a ride being a challenge :D I better plan to be dropped :o

Duane, Nate emailed me yesterday about riding this Saturday at 9 AM, I asked him where and haven't heard back from him. Are you free to make it then? I imagine it would be somewhere near y'all.

I told him Sat was probably do-able.... but that weather isn't looking so hot. Actually... cold and wet. :(
Neither teel nor Will have chimed in on our bike thread.... dunno what they are up to.
I think riding into downtown is my favorite ride. It's also the one i would like to be on LEAST if the weather turns ;)

I'm also going to do the Humble Lions ride on Saturday, the day before (Saturday, the 23rd), since it's so close to my house. The route for this ride is like the one we did from my house back in September.

OK. I signed up for the Hill Hopper too. Anyone else?
No Humble ride for me again but I still would like to ride out there sometime.

How long is the Lions ride? I'm ashamed of the shape I'm in...I just hope todays poor performance was due to the cold weather and my frist ride getting back into it. Usually the first ride after being off the bike for a while sucks for me.

Lions ride options: 55, 46.5, 25 and 4.
I prefer not to do the 4 mile route, as I will already be riding more than 4 miles from my house to get to the starting location.

Just make sure you don't push it too far ;)
I too am in horrible shape.... OR I just need to not try to do intervals after eating chicken'n'dumplins, mashed potatoes, macaroni'n'cheese, and rolls.

That sounds delicious. I dropped my Macbook on my foot today. The foot is fine, Macbook, however, is not happy and won't start. I've had to make an appointment at the Apple Store tomorrow, where Macbook Airs will tempt my like Satan with all the Kingdoms of the Earth. In the meantime, I've had to drag my old Dell out of the storage unit, since I don't think I could survive without internet access. And I had to renew my McAfee virus protection since it was way out of date, and it's no use trying to use a computer without it. Not a very good day for me, I think...

I think you should go for the Macbook Air.. it'll hurt your foot a lot less. ;)

Hey Chino and company, I will be at the Lion's Club ride as well. I forgot to sign up because I thought I was moving this weekend, but that's pushed back until March so... I'll be on a blue/black specialized allez elite.... with way too much specialized gear on in general.
The lion's club route is very similar to the one I do twice a week, but I think it is backwards. Crazy lion's club people, you're supposed to go east across the bridge FIRST...
Anyway, I'm Scott. Feel free to introduce yourselves if you spot me at the lion's club ride.
