Why??? Well, I spent this past weekend in LA. My dad doesn't get Versus. Meanwhile, back home, I have Tivo set to record anything cycling related. I come home, just to see if anything got recorded, and whadayaknow ... Tour of California preview was on Versus Saturday. Best part ... it got recorded.

Woohoo!!!! That's another toy ME has to buy ... :p

My wife can't live without it (DVR). I love being able to rewind while watching live sports or fast forwarding through Tour de France coverage and every commercial.

David Letterman! Yea, some people can't stand him ... but I like him a lot more than Jay Leno.

I love my tivo, too! I have 2 of them. Both have lifetime subscriptions, so they're basically free for life after 3 years. I take one up to the cabin and to KS and it will work anywhere! I hook it up to a DVR recorder, and I can burn disks and disks of movies and shows to watch when I'm somewhere with no TV, or I have to spend a day at the car dealership getting repairs done!

Or, I can put the second tivo in a room with no cable access and transfer the recording from one tivo to another! I could watch Tivo in my yard if I run an extension cord out there.

You can record a series you've never seen and it will record only one of each episode, so you can watch them in order. You can set it so that it only records new episodes of a show, so it will catch that Christmas special of Monk without recording a bunch of reruns.

You can rent movies right from Tivo from Amazon. I can download radio podcasts and play them on Tivo so the sound is nice and loud while I clean the house!

If I want to see a movie, I just put it in a wishlist, and it will automatically record it when it plays again!

Saved By the Bell, nip/tuck, October Road, reruns of The O.C., etc. - makes for fun-filled weekend TV marathons.

Looks like Zack got upgraded to a Cat 2 this season. I just saw it on the Team Helen's site.

I loved my Tivo/Directv receiver until it failed, so I ordered another one, well I leased it only to find out that they don't use Tivo. The generic recorder they now use SUCKS!!! But I did hear that they are now associated with Tivo again and hopefully will start using them again.

I don't understand how people live without it (if you watch any TV that is). The only commercials I watch are the ones I want to see...so unless it's a Victoria's Secret commercial, I skip it.:D

The Amazon-Tivo connection saves a trip to Blockbuster: all of the latest DVD releases are $3.99 or less.
