Pacific Northwest - Anyone else sign up for the Cycle Oregon yet?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just dropped my $825...hope it's all it's cracked up to be.
I signed up, this will be my second CO. The route looks pretty interesting, should be fun.
Bump...I just got the "we're almost full" e-mail from CycleOregon. Just me and Shifty? Really?
I'm in. My wife and I will be doing our first Cycle Oregon this year.
I tried my luck at the Nike lottery but did not win. Not sure I would have been able to do it anyway but free is free so....
I probably could have convinced my wife if I did tow my daughter the whole way.
You guys enjoy, I will do it one day later on.
Ciao

I am also in. This will be my third.
I am also in. This will be my third.GREAT! We'll have to plan some training rides, McKenzie Pass maybe? Monster Cookie for sure.:)
I'll be planning to come down and do the McKenzie when they open it for bikes this year, if you want to try to set up a group...
I'll be planning to come down and do the McKenzie when they open it for bikes this year, if you want to try to set up a group...You're on, let's get a group together. The snow is really deep up there this year, I hope they can get it plowed out before July:eek:
I was going to say something about McKenzie, I am already thinking about riding it again, last year it was great and I am positive I want to do it this year.
Let us know when it should be good, I will be ready....
Ciao

Maybe some helpful Eugeneite (Shifty?) could post on here when they do the open for bikes thing?
At the urging of 2thGrinder, I have taken the plunge and signed up for my first.
6 months of anticipation and good feeling. I love it.

My wife and I are in again for this year's event. I'll be with the Alaska contingent again this year as I have for 4 years previously. I can't wait!! Maybe we'll actually have a summer this year. Weather in AK has been cloudy all summer. The heat will probably kill us , but the hills will be fun.
See you all there. :thumb:
We should try to have a BFer meet-up...any ideas? Beer tent on Saturday night?

Good idea...just tell us what hat, shirt, jacket or other sign to look for.
I sure as hell don't want to be seen standing by a sign that reads, "BF-ers meet here". ;^)
I guess this does present some logistical challenges..."I ride a beautiful blue Vanilla" hardly lends itself to picking each other out of the assembled masses of the faithfull. We could pick a time to meet, maybe at rider services on Saturday evening? I've never done this ride so I'm not the most in the know on how to hook up groups.
Shifty, anythoughts?
I'll be on a black Cross Check with a Brooks saddle. Oh, and my tent is an REI Half Dome. That should narrow it down. My first time, too, so I'm not really sure. I think there's a message board where you can post notices about this kind of thing.

Shifty, anythoughts? The best way may be to pick a spot on the right side of the beer garden at a certain time and day. You could make up a roll up sign that says "BF Meet Up", or you can make a quick one at rider services then recycle it.
I won't be there, when I was broken I dropped out, then I got well, go figure:twitchy:
Have a great week of cycling!! The weather forecast is looking great! Maybe a couple 25 degree mornings, stay warm.
So how many of you are interested? I know I'd like to meet 55Rad, if just to thank him for posting some of the best pics on this forum. I'll be driving out and will be there by about 1PM Saturday. We could plan to meet "just right of the beer garden" at 5 PM?
And sorry to hear that Shifty. I'll hit you on e-mail when I'm down to Eugene this fall for a ride.

I'm interested Poprad. The first day will be hectic for me & others who are travelling from outside Oregon w/ bike assembly, etc. Maybe we could have a couple of meeting dates. The message board is a good place to communicate. The beer garden is usually packed, so just outside the beer garden is a good idea. Each day's setup will be different.
BTW, which gorgeous steed are you bringing 55/Rad?
The weather looks like it will be gorgeous and the riding terrific! This will be fun :)
Last post before I leave in the AM...seems like not a ton of responses on a meet up. Arctic, Lazlo, 55 and anyone else interested; I'll try to post something on the board under "BF meetup" tomorrow, likely the aforementioned 5PM to the rt of the BG.
Otherwise, see you on the road.

WHOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!
I am so psyched to be going!!!! This is huge for me and it couldn't come at a better time.
I'll be checking the BB.
Oh, and I'll be riding the Orbea Orca. Took me a month to decide, but it's carbon on this trip baby.
See you out there.
