Foo - Something funky. Window easter egg? ... and animated ascii ...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

this is from another forum I'm on as presented to me - and it works with windows from XP on up.

Someone had a lot of time on their hands! - Long Ascii "movie" -- hehehe - Star Wars ala ascii

Instructions:

go to "Run", type "Telnet"

(opens black box saying "Welcome to Microsoft telnet client")

Type "o" (that's a small "o", not a zero)

Now type "towel.blinkenlights.nl" (without the parenthesis of course).

:)

I do too, but this isn't one. You're connecting to a remote server that's sending you the ASCII movie much like you connect to bike forums to view the site (sorry, I can't tell if you're playing dumb).

Very cool though, I had no idea there was such a thing as ASCII movies. Oh, and this should work on almost any computer that can run telnet, not just Win XP and up.

It's not finished yet, but you can get most of it here:

You need to go to add remove programs and install the windows component Telnet

vista has it disabled by default.

It's not a Windows Easter Egg. You're connecting to a remote telnet server. Be careful when connecting to unknown Internet hosts.

I can only find remove programs options. Vista help has something about turning on/off Widows options but I'll be dang if I can find it.

1. Uninstall Vista
2. Install ANY other OS
3. Celebrate
