That and you get the bonus of smelling feet, something I, in particular, have an issue with. Smelling armpits I can handle, but feet smell makes me gag.

OK, that about ruined it for me. Thanks ME! .......:D

:o It's just me. Feet may not bother you. I took yoga about five years ago at two different studios and that was what grossed me out...the smell of all the feet in the room (everyone was barefoot).

Reminds me of Friday afternoon assemblies at the gym where we all had to take our shoes off.

...yeah....that's just wrong.

Oh well, I usually see all of these tiny women, carrying a rolled up mat, scurrying into the little yoga spot on Glendale Blvd in Atwater Village when I'm usually at the red light and I'm instantly grinning. I guess smelly feet will be on my mind from now on. :(

You probably just didn't have the same um....motivation that some of the guys here might have.:D

Painful? Hmmmm

Like an old boyfriend told me years ago...if it hurts, it only means you need more practice. :p;)

Think of the spandex, long, soft hair in ponytails, and the "down doggy" poses where their tiny tight butts are up in the air three inches from your face...now you tell me what we were just discussing? Hmmm?? Something about feet? Or was it inches? :D

So for the longest time I thought we were simply following Japanese custom of taking ours shoes off upon entering our school gymnasium. It wasn't that. The US Department of Defense didn't want their gymnasium floor scuffed up from metal taps on our street shoes.

I don't like to pigeon whole myself.

Question of the Day (Tuesday)

Which of the following BEST describes you as a cyclist?

Most people fit into more than one category. But pick the ONE that best describes you as a rider.
• Commuter
I'm reducing my carbon imprint. Or, I don't own a car.
• Recreational
It's all fun and games for me
• Fitness
I use cycling to stay in shape and keep the weight off
• Athletic
I'm always striving to record my Personal Best
• Competitive
I like to race head-to-head against others in crits, road races, on trails, etc.
• Professional
It's all about the Podium Girls

(If I don't work continuously both grams of muscle and fitness run away...)
• Athletic
I'm always striving to record my Personal Best
Umm... I DO want to get better, and I AM creeping up my average by about 0.1mph per week... is that striving?
I really just want to get to the Corner Bakery when everybody is sitting DOWN not getting UP.
Without taking a shortcut...

Playboy? How was suggesting that women are bending over in spandex in a yoga class Playboy material? Boy, back in the day, Playboy was awfully "clean."

You guys oughta try Yoga classes. Seriously hot flexible women twisting in all kinds of interesting ways. And the man/woman ratio is the opposite of cycling. Yeah like six girls to one guy...

This certainly isn't the reason why I'm studying to be a yoga teacher... honest.

Depends on exactly how you're chasing them - on a bike, or lunging out from a bush wearing only hiking boots as they pass.

Ok fine! :p

When i'm cruising along at 14mph waiting for my friend to catch up and a beautiful girl on a bike flys by at 20mph it's hard for me not to give chase... :D

It's happened at least 5 times in the last year... I usually end up getting droped because a) i don't want to leave my friend too far behind, b) i'm towards the end of my ride, or c) i had recently donated blood...

I need to ride down to Huntington Beach more along SART. Maybe i'll see the girl on the light blue trek triathlon/TT bike again... ;)

Corrected; Playboy does not have the "Dear Playboy" column. That was started (and I think remains) with Penthouse publications. Common pop-culture reference - so much so that an entire episode of "Seinfeld" was based on it.

It's clear you know a lot about it.

Can I borrow the latest issue when you're done with it?

It should be a checkbox thing-- I'm many of the above.

I agree, I'm all of them but the pro..and yet I've earned some paychecks from cyclists..from cycling events and other cycling related things. So looking at it with very squinty eyes, I would say maybe all of the above:D

I just love to ride. I do it for recreation..I do it for fitness, both mental and physical...I ride to work sometimes...I have a competitive streak in me, so I race..badly. I sort of classify the athletic part of riding with the competitive part,

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that its' all part of the package of being a cyclist. As a person's cycling identity matures, he or she will become involved with most aspects of the sport that were noted in the survey.

Like today..what a great day for a ride:D

Why not? He may just be reading it. Not everyone with a Penthouse in one hand is using the other for anything more than flipping the pages.

Seriously...you men. :rolleyes::p

Still, no sense in taking foolish risks.
I'll save that for the bike.

No, Clint, you can't - 'cause I don't posess any. I haven't posess any of that stuff since I was 17, I think (it's been a while).

I just happen to know a lot about it - and many things. I know a lot of things and, unfortunately, I've been cursed with an exceptionally thorough memory. Trust me, it's a curse. So I end up retaining a lot of knowledge, whether I like it or not.

Sorry to disappoint.

I started riding for fitness reasons. Now most of my rides are commuting. Though I'm commuting for fitness.

I chose fitness.
