I found this picture on the web today and thought everyone would like it. We have a few EMT bicycle responders here but only in the summer time when there is large groups of folks like festivals and such.

The picture is from London. I'm in Durham and our EMS responders only come out in the warmer months. Durham PD has a whole crew of bicycle police folk. They are riding almost everyday.

We have bike EMS responders in a lot of UK towns, all year round. They are best suited to cities with old medieaval street layouts having lots of narrow lanes. More here (http://www.eastanglianambulance.com/content/services/emergency/bicycleParamedic.asp)

Thanks Michael for the link. I'm wondering if any major U.S. cities are using this approach? Seems like it would work well in NYC.

Cool picture. I've got a buddy who is a paramedic, I'll ask him if they do anything like this around here.
