Event Schedule for 2008 Appalachian Classic - June 14th & 15th 2008
Calhoun County Park near Grantsville, WV - WVMBA Point Series Race

Saturday:
9am 2nd annual Trail Run - 5K
2pm XC Time Trial (cash prizes)
3 pm Kids Race (non-gender, age appropriate courses - 12 & under
4pm Bike Polo bring you own team of 4 or contact JRpetsko@hotmail.com to be put on a team..
7 pm Short Track Race (Cash Prizes - Mens Expert, Mens Sport, Womens Open)
8pm Free Live Music by the WeedHawks

Sunday:
Noon Appalachian Classic
3:30 pm Pond Jump
4pm Awards

Lots of great prizes, and lots of RAFFLES to raise $$ to help 10 month old Sammy Klimas battle cancer!!

This is one of, if not the best races in WV if you have a chance you really should attend. Best way to enjoy it is to just bring a tent and make a weekend out of it. If the games and entertainment are't enough this race always has an awesome prize table!

New prize table format this year - trophies (I've seen them - they're cool, and NOT cheap looking!) for winners, but a HUGE raffle table. Chances are, if you race, you'll get something - like usual! Racers will also be fed (free).

The Calhoun County Park also enjoys a national reputation as THE premier spot on the east coast for stargazing. Calhoun County is, evidently, a "black hole" of ambient lighting. So, bring your flashlights when you come to visit - the camping is free......
